To say goodbye to the world of fashion shows, Van Noten brought what he does best. For this spring/summer 2025 men's collection, 69 outfits are part of the collection, with 12 of them being worn by women. Transparency, layers and floral prints were the biggest highlights of the looks that dominated the catwalk. Colors such as pink, green, orange, khaki, metallic and neutral tones are present in the eccentric palette of the clothes presented. The Belgian designer also used the Japanese suminagashi marbling technique on bomber jackets, blazers and anoraks to produce the prints.

Ann Demeulemeester and Walter Van Bierendonck, Belgian designers with whom she founded the group “Antwerp Six” (The Antwerp Six) to put the city in the fashion spotlight, were present as guests to honor the farewell. Other friends and colleagues from the area such as Thow Browne, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Anna Wintour and Haider Ackermann also attended the event.

Dries Van Noten's retirement

After gaining notoriety with the group together with other Belgian designers, the designer founded his fashion house in 1986 and in 2018 sold it to the Puig group, which controls other brands such as Carolina Herrera, Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier and Nina Ricci, however, he continued to be present as a minority shareholder, creative director and president of the administrative board. In March of this year, he announced that he would leave the brand and, to date, his replacement has not yet been announced.

In a note released for his farewell parade, Van Noten wrote: “This is my 129th show; Like the previous ones, this one looks forward. Tonight is many things, but it is not a grand final. I think of how Marcelo Mastroianni once spoke of a paradoxical 'Nostalgia for the future', beyond the lost paradises imagined by Proust, and how we continue to pursue our dreams knowing that, at some point, we can look at them with love. I love my job, I love doing shows and sharing fashion with people. Creating is leaving something that continues to live. My feeling of this moment is how it is not just mine, but ours, always.”concluded.
