Dwayne Johnson reflects on fight with his father before his death
Superstar Dwayne Johnson aka The Rockmade an emotional video post in honor of Father's Day -which is celebrated on the third Sunday of June in the USA- reflecting on his relationship with his father, who passed away in 2020, after a sudden heart attack, at the age of seventy-five. He states that last Christmas the two of them fought and until their death they didn't speak to each other and this bothers him to this day.
The fight, according to the actor, occurred at Christmas and three weeks after the incident, his father died and they did not have time to reconcile beforehand. In the video he says that, at the time of recording, which was after running training, he had goosebumps, and that the feeling of having to write some words at the funeral was terrible, a feeling he doesn't want anyone to go through. “I do. I wish he was here one more time so I could say, 'Hey, I love you, happy Father's Day, thanks for raising me with the ability that you had,' even though sometimes it was complicated and sometimes we fought”, said the actor.
Had to tap back in to all my guys out there who – like me – no longer have our fathers to say Happy Father's Day to.

Generally, Father's Day generates a special emotion among people. In addition to the strong message in the form of an outburst, The Rock took the opportunity to encourage people to reconcile with their parents, to express their love to these loved ones without fear, if they have any disaffection. “If you have an opportunity, if your old man is around and you have a chance to reconcile it”he concluded with his voice already shaking with emotion.
Dwayne Johnson's opening of his heart was, for fans, a surprise. Some commented saying that the video served as a way of reminding them to value the time spent with their parents, overcome adversity, divisions, show love and gratitude to them while they are still alive.
Dwayne Johnson is the father of three daughters, Simone, from his marriage to his ex-wife Dany Garcia, Jasmine and Tiana, aged seven and five respectively, from his current marriage to Lauren Hashian.
