Eid Al-Fitr 2021: Gov Anticipating Residents to Go Home, West Java Prepare 2,500 Isolation Rooms

The government officially imposed a ban on going home from Thursday, May 6, to prevent a spike in the spread of COVID-19, ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 2021. In West Java, the implementation of the ban on going home is accompanied by steps to anticipate residents who insist on going home.
The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, said that apart from preparing raids with antigen tests in the rest areas and route points that travelers usually use, his party also provides around 2,500 isolation rooms in villages.
“If they persist, we have instructed Babinsa, Babinkamtibnas, TNI-Polri, village heads to isolate for five days,” said the man who is often called Kang Emil on Wednesday (5th May, 2021).
According to him, this was done because he reflected on the incident last year where there were a number of cases of transmission as a result of visiting residents who went home from the city. “There is an elderly mother who is exposed to COVID-19 because her child is visiting her during homecoming, so she can’t help herself.”
To support the anticipation of residents who insist on going home, West Java has also built a village post that is tasked with preparing isolation rooms.
“In the villages that have to provide the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) there are village funds, and one billion is intended to build a post,” Emil said.
He further added that later those who served at the village post would report people who came through the Pikobar application.
“So that later I can monitor reports from the villages and some new residents who force their way back to their hometowns. Even though we have educated, isolated, raided people’s names, yes, I have insisted on various things, I think this is very effective,” said Emil.
In addition, seeing the crowd that occurred in Tanah Abang, DKI Jakarta, Emil was on alert to have assigned officers to calculate 50 percent capacity at mall doors and markets in West Java.
“We don’t want the incident in Tanah Abang to be extremely busy, that’s because there are no restrictions. Therefore, we assign the doors to the mall, the market and we count that 50 percent of people have to queue outside to go back to shopping. Because if you let it be, it will be excited too, “explained Emil.
