Elton John thrills audience with farewell show at Glastonbury

On Sunday night (25), Elton Hercules John, born in England on March 25, 1947, aged 76 today, thrilled everyone when he took to the Pyramid stage at the Glastonbury Festival, at Worthy Farm, the most famous music festival in the United Kingdom, which has been going on for five decades.

This show is part of his farewell tour from the stage, which will end in July, in Stockholm. “I never thought I'd be playing Glastonbury, and look where I am.”he told his fans. This show attracted just over 7 million fans to a highly successful attraction that will be missed.

“It's a very special and emotional night for me. This could be my last show in the UK and even in England, so I better play well and entertain you a lot”, Elton said.

Affective from start to finish, this Sunday's show had exciting performances with distinguished guests, such as Brandon Flowersvocalist of The Killers, Rina Sawayama and others. In the audience and backstage, important names, such as Paul McCartney, Lewis Hamilton and Anya Taylor-Joywere also present.

But the highlight of this presentation was the beautiful tribute with the music “Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me” to the deceased in 2016, George Michael who would have turned 60 this Sunday. The star ended his show with an indescribable version of “Rocket Man”accompanied by lots of fireworks.

“It has been a wonderful journey and without a doubt I have had the best time. I will never forget you – you are in my head, in my soul, and in all my heart.” he said.

“The energy last night was unique, and I couldn't be more grateful to the audience and people watching at home for all of their love, and support. You will be in my heart and soul forever. UK, what a farewell, I love you”, posted later on his Instagram.

John thanked his fans for 52 years of incredible love and loyalty.
