“I feel good, given the circumstances. I still have to undergo some examinations in the hospital, but I am okay. I am now going to cheer my teammates at Denmark for the upcoming matches.”
Through his agent Martin Schoots, Eriksen also briefly heard from Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday . The former Ajax player already said that he felt good, but that he would like to know what exactly was the cause of his cardiac arrest. (Eriksen comes from hospital bed.)
Eriksen collapsed on Saturday in the game against Finland at the end of the first half. The Internazionale midfielder was resuscitated on the field and regained consciousness fairly quickly. His situation has been stable since then.
The Danish national doctor confirmed on Sunday that Eriksen’s illness was caused by a cardiac arrest. He must remain in the hospital until all investigations are completed.
