Eurovision update: Presenters skip rehearsals and S10 performs eleventh

Eurovision update, The starting positions of all participating countries are known and in that order they did the first rehearsal of the Eurovision final today. S10 is eleventh on the podium, after Spain and ahead of Ukraine. The singer was good in voice, while the work of the presenters still leaves something to be desired.

Starting positions are always the subject of discussion during the Eurovision Song Contest. Already at the first draw there is a reaction: most of the winners come from the second half, so you actually want to sit there.

In that sense, S10 is unlucky, because she is in the first half. We hear the singer as eleventh. Duncan Laurence won while singing twelfth, so anything can happen.

One thing is certain: for S10 it is nice that not they, but Romania has starting position two, because no one has ever won in that place in the past 66 years.

S10 sounded good during the first rehearsal. Although she performs between two favorites, the singer stays with you: Chanel brings the danceable SloMo and Kalush Orchestra Stefania, so there is a good variety in what comes before and after S10.

Serbia rises after last night at the bookmakers and that means that the Netherlands drops a place on the ranking for the first time in weeks. 

S10 is now in tenth place, below Norway. But after the rehearsal today and the jury show tonight, anything can happen.

Tonight is an important moment for S10: then the professional juries of all countries hand out the points. That means that her fate tonight around 11.30 pm is already half determined.

Tomorrow, viewers will be allowed to vote and eventually all those points will be added together.

The top three and the place of the Netherlands according to the bookmakers

• 2. United Kingdom – Sam Ryder – Space Man
• 3. Sweden – Cornelia Jakobs – Hold me Closer
• 10. The Netherlands – S10 – De Diepte

The final starts on Saturday with Give Peace a Chance by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It had already been announced in advance that because of the war in Ukraine peace would be an important theme during the Eurovision Song Contest, but apart from the medley of Mika and Laura Pausini, that was not yet very clear during the semi-finals.

Pausini was not there at the start of the rehearsals. Presenter Alessandro Cattelan told the press that the singer and presenter is doing well, but that she had to take some rest. Mika was there, but left before the rehearsal had really started.

Someone from the production had to fill in for him for a large part of the rehearsal. It shows how this year goes: Jan Smit, Edsilia Rombley, Nikkie de Jager and Chantal Janzen did all the rehearsals themselves.

And it is hard to believe, but the participant from Sweden again struggled with technical problems. Cornelia Jakobs started singing Hold me closer, the music was recorded, but the sound fell out again.

That means that the singer is now the biggest unlucky bird of this year towards the end: for her, no rehearsal has gone without problems so far.
