'Extraction' director announces start of filming of the film's sequel

The filming of “Rescue 2”a sequel to the hit Netflix action film starring actor Chris Hemsworth, has already begun production. The information was released by the film's director, Sam Hargrave, who posted a video on Instagram revealing the news.

According to director Sam Hargrave's video, the filming of the movie is taking place in the city of Prague, capital of the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe.

The sequel will once again star Chris Hemsworth, who confirmed his return as Tyler Rake in September of this year. The actor is also working on the fourth solo film for his Marvel character Thor, “Thor: Love and Thunder”which is scheduled for release next year.

The first movie “Rescue” was produced by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, directors of successful MCU films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, “Captain America: Civil War”, “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”and was directed by Sam Hargrave.

“Rescue” is available to watch on the Netflix platform. The streaming service has not yet announced an official release date for “Rescue 2”but the expectation is that the sequel to the action film will be released in 2022, two years after the release of the first film which took place in April 2020.

The film's synopsis reads: “In Bangladesh, black market mercenary Tyler Rake struggles to survive while on a mission to rescue the kidnapped son of an international crime boss.”
