Fans faint and Arctic Monkeys interrupt the show three times in Argentina

With frenetic melodies, a ripped vocal and easy-to-identify laid-back lyrics, the Arctic Monkeys revolutionized the music scene in England during the 2000s. After the band's resounding success, at a time when indie rock was strong with the New Yorkers The Strokes, the Monkeys' influence took on a worldwide proportion, making young people become idols and references for millions of people. Despite having consolidated themselves within the underground scene and far from a commercial format, the British had a career development that made them reach all types of audiences. This has been evident for some time now. The band managed to break out of the alternative bubble, and is increasingly participating in major festivals and award shows.

On tour through Primavera Sound, Arctic Monkeys has been making a series of performances in South America. But the success has been so great that the musicians had to interrupt a show in Argentina after confusion in the audience. It is common knowledge that fans get too excited about the Monkeys, and at last Sunday's performance (13), some even fainted, creating a commotion in the atmosphere. The British had to stop the show three times so that firefighters could help people, and because of this, the performance time had to be reduced. They left some classics out of the repertoire and only performed 15 songs, which is quite a lot, even if some fans were disappointed.

Living at the peak of their career, the group led by Alex Turner is promoting their new work, “The Car”. The album earned them a 2023 Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Performance, for the single “There'd Better Be a Mirrorball”. It is worth remembering that to date, the band has collected seven Brit Awards – including Best British Group and Best British Album – and three Grammy nominations. In addition to being present as headliners at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, and now Primavera Sound.
