Fashion show at Olympic opening ceremony has nightclub theme

Style and diversity on the River Seine

As boats sailed down the River Seine, carrying athletes from various nations to the competition, the Pont d'Iéna was transformed into a vast walkway.

Until the last moment, the place was the stage for a fashion show with creations by new designers, highlighting vibrant and bright colors.

In addition, diverse artistic performances, representing a wide range of styles, bodies and identities, were presented, celebrating diversity and freedom as predominant trends.

Tribute to nightlife culture

The event also paid tribute to Paris' clubbing scene and the LGBTQIAP+ community, highlighting the prominent participation of drag queens and dance performances to the rhythms of DJ Barbara Butch.

The official Olympic profile on the social network X (formerly Twitter) described the occasion with the phrase: “The world's a stage and Paris is a catwalk.”
