Fendi opens Milan Fashion Week

Last Tuesday (17), fashionistas from all over the world turned their eyes to Milan with the intention of following the renowned Milan Fashion Week that presents its Spring-Summer 2025 version. Big brands and their creative directors will have until September 22 to present what will be trending in the fashion world.

The classic Italian house, initially known for selling furs and leather, was founded in Rome in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi. Over the decades, it has reinvented itself and is now a reference when it comes to luxury clothing and accessories. Considered one of the most expensive brands in the world, a bag, for example, can cost up to 28 thousand dollars or approximately 152 thousand reais at the current exchange rate.

The parade

With an audience full of celebrities and big names in fashion, the luxurious Fendi was responsible for opening Milan Fashion Week. Bringing fluidity and transparency, the brand began its show to the sounds of the German neoclassical composer Max Richter and the voices of Anna and Silvia Fendi, respectively the daughter and granddaughter of Adele, the brand's founder.

Celebrating Fendi's centenary

To celebrate Fendi’s centenary, renowned artistic director Kim Jones presented the collection entitled “Dal 1925” (Since 1925), and, as if they were part of a “Great Gatsby”, guests were surprised by an elegant show where the lightness of organza and the delicate embroidery contrasted with structured coats and accessories that went from the minimum to the maximum.

Fendi’s artistic director managed to express his genius in clothes and accessories when he stated that, “The foundations of how women dress today, and in many ways how we think, are in the 1920s. It’s about modernity in style and attitude.” On the catwalk, guests were confronted with the past, present and future of fashion.

The embroidery, fluidity and transparency reflected the intimate setting, where, in the background, a conversation between the founder’s daughter and granddaughter could be heard. We heard Anna talking about her mother: “Obstinate as she was, she thought about opening her own boutique. She was a woman ahead of her time. For her, beauty was a goal since she was a child.”

Fendi opened fashion week with timelessness and elegance by bringing compositions that mix the delicate and the robust, showing us that there are no rules in fashion.
