Financial Pyramid Scheme Shakes Rafael's Family Portugal

Last Friday (22), after columnist Leo Dias released the news that comedian Rafael Portugal and his wife were victims of a scam by a Bitcoin company and lost R$1.2 million, Revista Quem contacted Vaneli who stated: “The information is true, yes. Like thousands of other clients, we both had several contracts with GAS, precisely because we believed that the company truly invested in cryptocurrencies. We trusted the people who introduced us to the company as an investment option and that's what we did. We didn't feel any kind of strangeness regarding GAS's work, because we always received all the payments due since the first contract. Proof of this is that we took a long time to file the lawsuit, which only happened due to the exclusive decision of the Gomes & Raner Advogados law firm, which represents our interests.”.

According to the comedian's wife: “I would like to take this opportunity to clarify that in this same process, we received a favorable decision from the Court regarding our requests. We trust the authorities to investigate and clarify all the facts.”.

The comedian received so many messages from people concerned about the situation that he decided to make a post on social media to clarify the situation for his followers with the following message: “Just to reassure everyone who is sending me messages, thank you for your affection, NAMORAL. I didn't LOSE, I wasn't harmed at any time and everything will be resolved.”.

Rafael and his wife's representatives are accusing the people responsible for GAS of not honoring the contracts signed, of not returning the amount invested by the couple, and are demanding material damages. A court order issued on September 28 determined that the amount of R$1.4 million be seized, and this amount will be used to cover interest, monetary correction, and legal costs in the lawsuit filed by the couple.
