In the month of May this year, according to the FipeZAP Index, there was an increase in the sales prices of residential properties. The cities that increased in value most during this period were Curitiba, Goiรขnia, Maceiรณ, Salvador and Florianรณpolis. Vitรณria, on the other hand, has the most expensive square meter in the sample.

The value of residential properties

In May, residential property sales prices increased by 0.74%, according to the FipeZAP Index, which monitors the average variation in residential values โ€‹โ€‹in 50 cities in Brazil. Year to date, the increase is 2.93%, while in the last twelve months, growth reached 6.07%. FipeZAP surpassed the General Price Index โ€“ Market (IGP-M), which corresponds to rent inflation, recording a drop of 0.34% in the same period.

The most expensive cities in Brazil

The capitals with the highest appreciation in May, according to the index, were Curitiba (1.88%), Goiรขnia (1.47%), Maceiรณ (1.27%), Salvador (1.18%) and Florianรณpolis (1.05 %).

The top three most expensive properties in Brazil are not located on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro or in luxury skyscraper towers in Sรฃo Paulo. They are in the city of Balneรกrio Camboriรบ, nicknamed the โ€œDubai of Brazilโ€, occupying first place in the list of the top 10. Next comes Itaperuna, in Santa Catarina, and in third place is the city of Vitรณria, in Espรญrito Santo, which has become the most valuable square meter in the country, registering a 0.94% increase in real estate value in the last month. 4 โ€“ Florianรณpolis โ€“ Santa Catarina: average sales price (R$/mยฒ) = 11,261.

5 โ€“ Itajaรญ โ€“ Santa Catarina: average sales price (R$/mยฒ) = 11,107.
