Fulani settlement burnt down in Ogun

A Fulani settlement at a town called Itin Sagamu, Ogun State, has been demolished somewhere around angry Yoruba youths, following an instance of hijacking & Kidnapping of residents of the state.

The Ogun State police order has affirmed the occurrence to newsmen.

Afrilatest accumulated that some herders said to be Fulani had snatched a lady, whom the police said was at this point to be protected as of Tuesday night.

Exasperated by the circumstance, a few youths in Iraye, who said instances of abducting had been repeating nearby, raged the Fulani settlement and set it ablaze.

It was discovered that one individual was harmed in the episode as numerous different Fulani men escaped for wellbeing with their spouses and youngsters.

The Ogun State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Abdulmumin Ibrahim, said around five houses were burnt by local people in the settlement.

As per Ibrahim, no life was lost in the assault, saying the influenced herders have briefly moved.

“Those influenced have arrived behind schedule from the local area. Two people were missing prior yet they have been found. We have requested that they make a proper report at Sagamu Police station on the episode,” the MACBAN Chairman has said.

The state police representative, Abimbola Oyeyemi, while affirming the occurrence, stated that routineness had been reestablished.

Oyeyemi said the conflict happened on the grounds that “a few Fulani herders grabbed somebody in his homestead.”

He added that the State Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun had visited the spot for on-the-spot appraisal.
