According to sources close to the case, the decision was recorded last January.
These two investigations were opened in January and August 2021 by the Paris prosecutor’s office. In the context of the first, the dismissal of proceedings was chosen because of the statute of limitations of the alleged facts, whereas, in the case of the second investigation, it was on the ground of “insufficiently serious offence” that the dismissal was required.
For the lawyers of the two men, who have always denied the accusations against them, this is obviously a huge victory. “This is a fair application of the criminal law, it is quite normal that Gérard Louvin is totally exonerated by the French justice,” commented his lawyer, Christophe Ayela.
“It’s a victory. Justice has been done, it is a great relief, it has been a long and painful procedure for my client.
We are happy to have trusted our legal system, because today, their honor is washed, “said Céline Bekerman, lawyer of Daniel Moyne.

As a reminder, the ugly case began in January 2021 when Olivier, nephew of Gérard Louvin, had filed a complaint against his uncle accusing him of having “favored” rapes of which he would have been a victim in the 1980s by Daniel Moyne.
Subsequently, several other complaints of “rape” and “sexual assault” against the couple were filed in Paris, and a preliminary investigation was opened by the prosecutor’s office in the capital.
At the beginning of August, the Paris prosecutor’s office opened another investigation, also “for rape of minors”, after an indirect testimony accusing the two men of organizing “paid sexual parties with minors of the favelas” in Brazil in 2004, which they disputed.
This other procedure “was closed without further action”, also in January, “because of an insufficiently characterized offence”, also said the Paris prosecutor’s office.
