Gigi Hadid and Tyra Banks Return to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in October

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is set to return this year, and the brand has started building anticipation with a video starring Tyra Banks and Gigi Hadid. Released in August, the teaser shows the supermodels walking through a hotel lobby as Chappell Roan's “Feminine” plays in the background. In the video, Hadid approaches the front desk, rings a bell, and receives a golden invitation to the event from Banks. “See you there”says Banks, handing over the card that announces the date: October 15, 2024, in New York.

The return of the show, which had been suspended since 2018, was highly anticipated by fans. The brand, however, promises some changes to adapt the show to the new times, seeking to meet the demands for greater diversity and inclusion, which have become central themes since the last event.

The return after six years

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, known for its “Angels” and grandiose presentations, has faced heavy criticism in recent years. Since then, Victoria's Secret has been trying to revamp its image. One of its main initiatives was the launch of VS Collective, a platform that seeks to highlight causes important to women, promoting greater diversity among the brand's ambassadors. Figures such as Valentina Sampaio, the brand's first trans model, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, have been the faces of this new phase.

The 2024 parade

The 2019 show was canceled amid criticism of the company's executives and the lack of representation on the runways. Since then, Victoria's Secret has launched the VS Collective, an initiative focused on women's causes and promoting diversity among its representatives. Among the new ambassadors are Valentina Sampaio, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Megan Rapinoe, symbolizing this new phase of the brand.
