Gilberto scores again, Cruzeiro beats Bragantino and advances in the Brazilian Championship table

Cruzeiro went to Bragança Paulista after 25 years and will return with the three points in their bag. The team led by coach Pepa knew how to take advantage of the spaces and numerical advantage on the field and won a beautiful 3-0 victory over Bragantino. The club from Minas Gerais conquered the second victory in a row and rose to the top of the table in the Brasileirão.

In the first finalization of the match, Cabuloso showed his business card. In the first minute of the game, Ramiro received it at the entrance to the area and finished it under goalkeeper Lucão, to score the first goal of the match. Bragantino’s situation would get worse minutes later. In the 27th minute, Aderlan was expelled for stopping a clear chance of scoring by the opposing team. In the final minutes, Bruno Rodrigues cut to the middle and finished in the left corner of Lucão to score the third Cruzeirense goal and gave final numbers to the match.

With the result, Cruzeiro reaches 6 points in the Brasileirão table and is momentarily in the classification zone for Libertadores 2024. Bragantino has 4 points and can fall to the second page of the table.

Bragantino takes the field on Tuesday, at 9 pm at Nabi Abi Chedid against Estudiandes de La Plata, for the third round of the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana. In the Brasileirão, Braga will face Grêmio next Sunday, in Porto Alegre.

Cruzeiro will only return to the field next Saturday, against Santos at Arena Independência, for the fourth round of the Brazilian championship.
