Giuliano asks to leave Santos after access to Serie A

Midfielder Giuliano should not wear the Santos shirt in the 2025 season. The player asked to leave the club after winning Series B and, consequently, access to the first division of Brazilian football and should no longer be an option for the last round of the competition.

Giuliano's contract ends at the end of this year, however, there is an automatic renewal clause, which in this case, at the player's request, will not be exercised by the club.

Various clubs in his career

Giuliano has a vast CV in the world of football. The athlete, who began his career in 2007, with Paraná, played for some teams in Brazil and around the world. Internacional, Grêmio, Zenit, Fenerbahçe, Al-Nassr and Corinthians are some of the clubs the midfielder played for during his career.

The athlete was a starter for much of Peixe's 2024 Series B campaign and is the first player to leave the club for the next season. In a recent interview with the ge portal, the midfielder said that the 2025 season could be the last of his career.

At 34 years old, Giuliano was one of the main characters in Santos' reconstruction this year, arriving as a major signing and leaving the club with 36 games played, 12 goals scored and guaranteed access to Serie A next year.

Other expected departures

Giuliano could be the first of many who must leave the Baixada team with the end of the championship. The club's idea is to undergo a reformulation next year and become more competitive in the first division. A club is looking for a new coach after the departure of Fábio Carille last Monday (18).

Santos returns to the field next Sunday (24), the team faces Sport, on Ilha do Retiro, in Recife. The match is valid for the last round of Series B and marks the end of the club's first stint in the second division of the Brazilian Championship. The team will be coached by under-20 coach, Leandro Zago.
