The functionality is only available in the Instagram app and is not accessible via the browser on your computer. Furthermore, not all users have the tool, as its release may depend on criteria such as the number of followers or other factors not yet disclosed.
- Access your profile
Open the Instagram app and access your profile. Then click on the follower list to open the options.
- Flag for review
On your followers page, check if there is an option called “Flagged for Review” at the top of the screen. If the functionality is available, click on it.
- Analysis and deletion
On the new page, profiles that Instagram identified as irrelevant, spam or with strange behavior will appear. Review each account and delete any that you consider inappropriate. It is also possible to remove them all in bulk using the option available at the top of the screen.
- Flagged accounts
Another feature is the folder Signposted. Even if your account is public, profiles with suspicious behavior can be added to this category for approval. To review these requests:
Access your profile.
Tap Followers and go to the folder Signposted.
Approve or delete requests individually, or use the Delete all.
Observation: Requests listed as “Flagged” that are not approved within 30 days will be automatically rejected.
How to disable automatic filtering of flagged accounts
If you want to disable automatic filtering of follower requests, follow these steps:
- Open the Instagram app and access your profile.
- Tap Followers and find the option Flag for review.
- Disable the corresponding button.
The setting can be reactivated at any time as needed.
