The touchpad (or trackpad, as it is also known) is the region of a notebook that is sensitive to touch (touchscreen) and serves as a mouse for those who do not wish to purchase the equipment separately. Although useful, the functionality can have bugs and be disabled on its own.

How to enable and disable the touchpad on the notebook
Time required: 2 minutes
- Access settings
On your desktop, click the Windows icon button to access the Start Menu. Then, look for the button with the gear symbol and select it to open the settings sector;
- Enter the correct sector
Once the settings panel opens, look for the “Devices” option and click on it;
- Access the correct tab
In the list of options, click on the “Touchpad” button;
- Enable or disable the touchpad
Finally, look for the scroll button under the name “Touchpad”. If it is blue, it means the operation is on; if it's gray, it's off. Simply select the button to control the touchpad system.

If you want to disable it when a mouse is connected, simply click the checkbox below the scroll button and disable it. It says “Leave the touchpad on when a mouse is connected”: the blue box means enabled, and if it is gray, it is disabled.
Although Windows 11 has a different interface than Windows 10, you can still follow this tutorial: just pay attention to the name of each button and you will be able to activate or deactivate the touchpad.
