What are the PS5 30th Anniversary Special Themes?

PlayStation's special 30th anniversary themes are a surprise update from Sony in celebration of the console's anniversary. In addition to the themes, a home screen inspired by the classic PS1 opening is also available.

Each of the themes features sound effects inspired by the honored generation. To take advantage of this nostalgia, however, it's important to be quick: the themes and animations will be available for a limited time, even though Sony has not confirmed an end date.

Time required: 4 minutes

Make sure your PS5 is up to date;
If automatic update is not selected, download it manually;
The console must be connected to the internet, via cable or Wi-Fi, for the content to be downloaded;
The video game will restart.
Then, follow whatever is on the screen until it starts operating again;
When the PS5 starts up again, you will notice that the “opening” has changed;
Now, it starts the same way it was done on the PS1, 30 years ago.
On the home screen, select Settings in the top right corner (gear icon);
Right at the top of the list, you can see the option “PlayStation 30th Anniversary”. It is in this area that the special themes are;
Click on the nostalgic “PS” icon;
A new menu will appear with just a button and a viewer at the bottom;
By clicking on it, you will have access to all of the PS5's special theme options on the screen;
Ready!
Now you can select any of the themes available to celebrate PlayStation's 30th anniversary.

In addition to the update as a gift of thanks and celebration, PlayStation also published a video thanking and honoring players for 30 years of support (see below). There is also a birthday promotion running until December 20th, with several games on offer on the PlayStation Store.
