You may be wondering how to check the health of your iPad's battery to assess its useful life and get an estimate of its day-to-day performance. However, unlike current iPhones, iPadOS does not offer a native option for consultation, which forces the user to look for other means.

Checking the health of the iPhone battery, for example, generates many doubts among users, since the degradation of this component has a direct impact on the system in general. Why doesn't iPad show battery health?

However, Apple does not encourage users to research the iPad's battery conditions, as it has a higher level of durability and useful life than devices such as the iPhone and Apple Watch. Therefore, it takes longer for a tablet to have its battery degraded over time.

As the iPad needs to be charged less, it suffers less energy impact and wear. Therefore, it ends up not making much sense for the user to worry about checking the health of the battery, even because, even with wear greater than 30%, for example, it is still capable of delivering enough energy to the processor – on the contrary of the iPhone.

If you're still curious to know your iPad's battery health, you can follow one of the tips below. The first is more complex, but does not require any installation, and the second requires downloading the “coconutBattery 3” application. Check it out below!

1 – On the device itself

• Open the app Adjustments. It is represented by a gray gear.
• Access Privacy and Security. Scroll down a little to find the option, which will be at the end of the “General” section.
• Click Analysis and Improvements. The option will be almost at the bottom of the screen.
• Confirm that the button Share iPad Review is activated. Otherwise, the iPad will not generate the logs necessary to identify the “health” of the battery.
• Click Analysis data. A list of logs should appear.
• Find the most recent Analysis log. He must have the name Analytics or Analysis; the numbers after it represent the date, so choose the most recent one.
• Copy the log to a text editor. You can use the iPad's “Notes” app or export the log to a computer.
• Search for MaximumCapacityPercent. The number present right after the term indicates the current capacity of the battery, but in percentage. If it is “90”, for example, it is 90% charged.
• Search for CycleCount. The number after the term is the battery's current cycle. Whenever it is charged from 0 to 100, a cycle is completed. According to Apple, iPads should maintain around 80% battery capacity after 1,000 cycles.

2 – Using applications

• Download and install the coconut battery program;
• Connect your iPad to your Mac using the cable;
• Open the finder on your Mac, as shown in the following image, and the device will appear in the left sidebar, select it and click on the “trust” button;
• Now on your iPad: A notification similar to the next image will appear: Just select the “trust” option;
• Open the coconut battery program on your Mac and then go to the “IOS device” tab;
• Just below “design capacity” will show the percentage of battery health;
