Hugo Souza intends to stay at Corinthians

Hugo Souza is one of Corinthians' great highlights in the current season, both for what he did in the Copa do Brasil, in the South American Cup and for what they have been doing in the Brazilian Championship. However, the player is not yet a definitive athlete for the São Paulo club and Bahia could enter the fight.

Hugo's undefined future

The goalkeeper is still officially a Flamengo player, on loan to Corinthians, who, according to what was agreed between the parties, will have to pay almost R$5 million by November 30th, to officially sign the athlete. Goalkeeper Hugo believes he will stay at the club.

“As I have said on other occasions, I really believe in the word of the president and Fabinho, if they said that everything is ok, I believe it is a matter of time before everything is resolved. Everyone knows what I want, I’m happy here.”

Another team interested in signing the player is Bahia. Grupo City, which manages the team's football, is willing to count on Hugo Souza for next season, if Corinthians does not fulfill the agreement by November 30th. However, Hugo keeps his word that he currently only thinks about helping Corinthians and that he leaves external issues to businesspeople.

Speech by the president of Corinthians

The president of Corinthians, Augusto Melo, even gave an interview to the club's official channel, on the 5th, saying that everything has been resolved and that the player will be a club athlete, and it is only a matter of time before everything is officially confirmed and announced.

“Everything is resolved, Hugo, transfer ban, everything is ok. It's a matter of hours, at most days. This is within our schedule. It is within the deadline, we are fulfilling what was agreed”

There are still five games left for Hugo to play against Corinthians, who currently occupy tenth place. In the next match, the team will face Cruzeiro, on Wednesday (20), after the FIFA Data. The team still faces Vasco da Gama, Criciúma, Bahia and Grêmio.
