“I Know What You Did Last Summer” should get a sequel

_{One of the biggest horror films of the 90s could add to the franchise. According to the American website Deadlinethe Sony Pictures wants to continue the classic and has been negotiating the return of the actors Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.}

_{Still in its initial phase, the studio intends to direct the film with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson director of Netflix's The Justices. In addition to bringing back the original producer Neal H. Moritz and the script Leah McKendrick.}

_{Originally released in 1997 and based on a book of the same name written by Lois Duncan and published in 1973, “I Know What You Did Last Summer” was one of the films that, at the time, brought the “slasher” subgenre to the fore. The first production also had in the cast Ryan Phillippe and Sarah Michelle Gellar.}

_{In the story, four friends are spending a night at the beach and when they go to the road, they accidentally run over and apparently kill someone. After an argument, the group decides to carry the body and throw it into the sea and they promise never to talk about what happened that summer again.}

_{After a year, they start receiving anonymous letters with writings like “I know what you did last summer!” and being chased by a strange figure who seeks to kill them one by one using a hook.}

_{I Still Know What You Did Last Summer was the first sequel to the production, released in 1998. In 2006, it was the turn of I Will Always Know What You Did Last Summer. In 2021, Prime Video produced an eponymous series based on the films that, without the expected success, was canceled after one season.}
