'I want to be and I want to be my age'

Actress Denise Fraga spoke about aesthetic pressures, ageism and how she deals with her maturation this Tuesday (26) in an interview for the magazine 'Quem'. At 57 years old and with more than 30 years of career in TV, theater and cinema, Denise opposes ageism and the obsession with beauty imposed, especially on women and says she has not given in to aesthetic procedures even after feeling the pressure to follow certain standards in her career.

Denise shares her fears and reveals her fear of not recognizing herself after a more invasive procedure. “I'm very afraid of doing something that will remove from my face all these marks that tell so much about me, and that make me recognize myself. I recognize myself, I am like this, I don't want to not have these lines, this Chinese mustache. I want to be and I want to be my age”she comments. Despite trying to deal with aging in a positive way, the actress says that it is a process of ups and downs and emphasizes the importance of understanding that everything in life is cyclical.

Today, after becoming an ambassador for beauty brands such as Eucerin, Denise talks with amusement about her relationship with beauty. She says that her career as an actress was not focused on that and gives credit to comedy: “I'm a comedian, so comedians always tear themselves apart a little! (laughs) I do a lot of things with humor and I've always torn myself apart for the jobs.”

The actress continues to emphasize the importance of aging well and taking care of your health to achieve this, “When you feel like you're aging well, don't get neurotic, don't get boring.” Denise Fraga plans to continue her play 'Eu de Você' in the second half of this year, in addition to releasing the film '45 do Segundo Tempo', a feature film by Luiz Villaça, showing from August 18th, where the actress acts alongside her colleagues Tony Ramos, Cássio Gabus and Ary França.
