Ibrahimovic wants to continue as a Swedish international,

Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to make himself available for Sweden, even though he failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday with his country. The 40-year-old striker still feels good enough.

With Ibrahimovic on the bench, Sweden lost 2-0 in Poland. The star had a reserve role because he was not completely fit and only came into the field in the final phase, but then he was unable to change the backlog.

“I’m not going to suddenly change my mind now that we lost a game and didn’t make it to the World Cup.

I want to continue as long as possible,” Ibrahimovic said after the game about his future as an international.

“Of course I have to feel healthy and fit. Only then can I perform. I will not participate if I am half injured, but that is also the case at AC Milan.”

‘The European Championship of 2024? That’s still too far away’

In March last year, Ibrahimovic returned as Sweden international after almost five years at the age of 39. He already missed the European Championship due to a knee injury and now has to miss the World Cup.

The striker did not want to talk about the European Championship of 2024.

“That’s still too far away. I see more every day how I feel and what I am capable of,” he said. “I want to play as long as possible, but there is also another side. It’s not just about my ego.”
