In search of votes, Kamala aims to win over male voters

Despite massive support from female voters, the campaign committee of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris knows it may not be enough to get her elected in the November election.

That's why, recently, she and her party have been sparing no effort to win the votes of male voters, especially white men. The choice of Tim Walz, governor of the state of Minnesota, a white man, was carefully thought out by her team.

With just under two months to go until the election, the Democratic campaign is increasingly targeting men, seeking out undecided voters, as Republican candidate Donald Trump has invested millions of his campaign's worth of advertising in several popular sports, such as baseball and basketball.

Tim Walz's Pick

The process for choosing the vice president on the Democratic ticket went through this sieve and the governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, was chosen to represent and try to win these votes from white men, precisely because he is one of them.

While the two do not discuss gender and historical issues, Walz and Harris acknowledge that winning over these white male votes could secure victory in November's election.

According to an anonymous Democratic Party advisor to CNN, he said that the goal in this final stretch of the campaign is to win what he called “attainable men”.

Candidate strategies

While Kamala Harris seeks to increase her influence and win votes from white men, who mostly support Trump, the Republican candidate has tried to increase his base among young Latinos and blacks, who tend to support the Democrat.

Help from Tim Walz

Tim Walz's support in this final stretch of the race for the White House will be crucial, precisely for him to win the votes of older white men.

Having been a teacher in his youth, Tim Walz has used didactics to attract male voters. On the issue of abortion, he uses his personal examples as a father and husband to convince those who are against it or who have no clear opinion.

During a rally in Wisconsin, he asked supporters to go door-to-door to convince neighbors to support his candidacy.

Despite not having the declared support this year of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a major labor union, Walz is trying to garner votes for Kamala among the class.

The International Brotherhood declared on Wednesday (18) that it will not support any of the candidates. In the 2020 election, their support for Joe Biden was decisive for the Democrat to be elected and defeat Trump.

Even though she has the majority of female votes, this may not be enough for Kamala to be elected in November, as analysts believe that Trump has more power to maintain and increase his influence over the male electorate.
