Italy to allow 1000 fans in stadiums from 1st May
Italy will allow up to a thousand spectators to attend sports matches in open stadiums from 1 May. That is true in the regions least affected by the corona virus, the Italian government reported on Friday.
The Serie A football matches, the highest basketball and volleyball competitions and the tennis tournament on the clay court in Rome (9-16 May) can take place with a limited number of spectators.
A maximum of five hundred spectators are allowed for indoor sports from 1 May. There too, the relaxation only applies in the so-called yellow areas where the restrictions are the least strict. It concerns all “sporting events of national importance”, said a spokesman for the Secretary of State for Sport.
