The 35-year-old star of the Los Angeles Clippers reached the mark of 102 games with 40 points or more, a feat that establishes him as one of the greatest basketball players in history. The achievement took place this Wednesday (27), after an inspired night by Harden in the Clippers' victory over the Washington Wizards, at the Capital One Arena, in Washington.

The Los Angeles Clippers point guard was the highlight of the game and scored 43 points. In addition to the baskets, Harden contributed seven assists and four rebounds during the 32 minutes he was on the court. The Clippers dominated the game, which was Harden's best performance in a regular season game since 2021, when he played for the Brooklyn Nets.

With this performance, the 35-year-old reached the mark of 102 games with 40 or more points in his NBA career, a feat that places him alongside legends such as Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in the small group of athletes who have surpassed 100 games with these numbers.

Records and historical marks

Harden's great performance, in addition to guaranteeing the Clippers' victory, also gave personal records to “Barba”, as the star is known. He became the first player in NBA history to score 40 or more points for five different teams: Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers and now, Los Angeles Clippers.

In the game, Harden also established his position as one of the greatest shooters of all time, surpassing Stephen Curry in the number of games, with at least five three-pointers and 40 total points. With 2,988 three-pointers made in his career, Harden is only behind Curry, the isolated leader with 3,807 baskets.
