Janelle Mone shines on the cover of Rolling Stone: new phase of her career

The American singer, Janelle Monáeappears in the new edition of the magazine Rolling Stone in a bold, sensual and much freer way. In addition to starring on the cover, the non-binary artist shared a lot about her life and her next career steps, which include the release of her new album “The Age Of Pleasure”. Janelle talks about how she is more naked, more present and much less anxious during this period of her career, and adds: “Most people don't understand what's going on in my brain. Living with other people has been very useful for me; It's beautiful that I have a title like 'The Age of Pleasure' because it really re-centers me. It's not about an album anymore. I changed my whole f*cking lifestyle.”

Furthermore, the singer also shared the cause of all the change, which was, in large part, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the artist, when the quarantine happened, she felt extremely alone, and, in a way, lonely, looking forward to being able to get together with people again, to enjoy parties and enjoy life.

Janelle also explains the album's inspiration and what it refers to: “This album is not about a fight. It's about living in an oasis created by us for us. Even with everything going on in the world, this is our time to breathe together, unapologetically, enjoying this beat – to hurry up and live.”

It is also worth remembering that its new production, “The Age Of Pleasure”, is his first album in five years, considering that his last, “Dirty Computer”was released in 2018. Therefore, it can be said that fans are eager and thirsty for new songs from the artist.

The new album is scheduled to be released on June 9th, but, to the delight of the public, it already has two songs – “Float” and “Lipstick Lover” – available on digital platforms.
