Carter was a member of the Democratic Party and before reaching the White House, he was a senator and governor of the State of Georgia. He only had one warrant, which was marked due to economic and political conflicts at the time.

Born on October 1, 1924 in Plains, Georgia, James Earl Carter, known only as Jimmy Carter, was the son of a farmer and a nurse. On his academic journey he attended the College of Southwest Georgia, the state Institute of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy in 1946, beginning his military career.

In 1946 he married Eleanor Rosalynn Smith, who adopted Carter and together they had four children and were married for 77 years, until Rosalynn's passing in November 2023. Soon after, he joined the Democratic Party and won his first election, as senator, in 1962 and was re-elected in 1964. His mandate was marked by his criticism of large government spending and being against the ban on black people voting. He won the Georgia gubernatorial election in 1970 and governed until 1975.

Despite the differences, Carter is internationally recognized for his diplomacy, when he managed to broker an agreement between Israel and Egypt in 1978, his fight for peace was also marked by the attempt to boycott the Moscow Olympics in 1980, due to the Soviet war in Afghanistan. .

In 1982, he founded the Carter Center, a non-profit foundation that seeks to provoke important political debates in the world. His NGO promoted several humanitarian actions during various conflicts, which earned him a Nobel Prize from Peace, in 2002, for his contributions to the world.
