John Arias returns to Fluminense as an important reinforcement

After the return of John Arias, coach Mano Menezes will prepare the appropriate lineup to face Fortaleza, this Friday (22), at 9:30 pm, at Maracanã Stadium. In addition to the striker, five more players are once again at Mano Menezes' disposal.

Performance and return

The midfielder, who plays as a winger, was one of Fluminense's only highlights this year. Arias scored some goals that were essential during the season fighting against Z4, but the tricolor team continues to have points equal to Criciúma, just one position above the relegation zone, in 16th place in the Brazilian Championship.

After the player's departure during FIFA Data, the Fluminense team did not win without the Colombian being present in the squad. With his return, Mano Menezes will have five starters at his disposal: Fábio, Thiago Santos, Ganso, Arias and Kauã Elias. It is expected that the lineup will contain everyone in the match against Fortaleza.

The Tricolor club's performance is below 10%, accumulating 11 games, eight defeats and three draws. Fluminense has the worst record even against the bottom team, Atlético-GO, which currently has a 23% record in the Championship.

In this final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, Fluminense is no longer at risk of relegation, despite the score and place in the table. The club will not have games with teams that are in the Z4, which prevents the tricolor team from decreasing its position in the competition, bringing some relief to the coach and the fans.
