Jojo Todynho reveals surgery to treat fatty liver and surprises fans

At the beginning of this year, Jojo Todynho was diagnosed with hepatic steatosis, better known as fatty liver, and as a result she began to worry about her diet and started exercising, which made her lose a lot of weight. At the time of the diagnosis, she even mentioned bariatric surgery on medical advice, but it was only this Tuesday (8) that the singer underwent surgery.

The singer used social media to inform her fans that she would undergo surgery, and posted a story on Instagram in which she appears in hospital clothes, asking them to pray for her. This Wednesday morning (9), she appeared again on the social network to update her followers, saying that she had felt pain after the surgery, but that she was feeling fine.

She took the moment to tell her followers that she had not mentioned that she would have the surgery before because she was afraid of being canceled by internet users. “The surgery is delicate and there is no point in answering whether I am going to do it or not. It's my decision and not the internet's”, he commented, explaining that he even said that he had given up on the procedure because he had received several questions from curious people about who the surgery would be performed on and when. Jojo also said that when he got home he would tell more details about the procedure and why he chose the surgery.

About the surgery

Unlike liposuction, which is a cosmetic surgery, bariatric surgery is recommended for overweight or obese patients who have difficulty losing weight. In addition to obvious weight loss, surgery also reduces the complications of diabetes and the risks of arterial hypertension, better known as high blood pressure, which, according to data from the Ministry of Health, is responsible for the deaths of around 300,000 Brazilians per year.
