Julianne Moore steals the show on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival

Julianne Moore turned heads as she walked the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival in a dress covered in gold sequins. The actress attended the sixth day of the event on Monday (02) for the premiere of the film “The Room Next Door”, the first film in English by Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. The Festival began last Wednesday (28) and will end on Saturday (07). Big names in Brazilian audiovisual such as Fernanda Torres, Juliana Paes and Bárbara Paz also attended the 81st edition of the Festival.

In addition to the radiant shine of the sequined gown, the dress chosen by the American actress and writer also had a daring neckline. With the sparkling piece, Moore combined large teardrop earrings in the same color and a simple makeup and hairstyle.

The American Oscar winner will star in Pedro Almodóvar's new film, “The Room Next Door.” The actress even posed hand in hand with the filmmaker and Tilda Swinton while walking the red carpet at the event.

Film Festival

The event, which has been taking place since 1932, currently aims to bring together the biggest names in the audiovisual industry, but few know about the roots of its invention. This is because the Festival was invented by a businessman with the intention of strengthening Benito Mussolini's fascist regime.

Now, the main award is the Honorary Golden Lion. This is a tribute to actors, actresses, directors and directors of productions who have made significant contributions to cinema. The festival showcases 21 main productions competing for the Golden Lion, and Brazil is competing for this title with the production “Ainda Estou Aqui” by Walter Salles, starring actress Fernanda Torres and actor Selton Mello.
