Katja Schuurman says she feels better after the end of her relationship with Freek van Noortwijk. The actress has good contact with her ex-husband, she told RTL Boulevard on Wednesday .
At the end of October, about a month before it was announced that Schuurman and Van Noortwijk were separating, the actress announced that she was taking a six-month sabbatical. During that period, she takes a break from her work.
“I thought I would feed myself in that, but that was more treading water and surviving because of the divorce,” says Schuurman. “But I floated up again.”
“It is very nice and good life again and I have nice contact with this ex-husband,” laughs Schuurman.

Schuurman and Van Noortwijk confirmed in 2015 that they were in a relationship and celebrated their wedding in the summer of 2019.
It was later revealed that they were not legally married. “We just celebrated our marriage in a way that we liked. Not for the law and not for the church, but for what we believe in,” Schuurman said at the time. In 2020 they had daughter Coco together. Schuurman already had a daughter, Sammie, with her ex Thijs Römer.
