Lady Gaga explains why she doesn't deny the lies about her gender

Lady Gaga, in an interview, this Thursday (19), for What's Next? The Future With Bill Gatesspoke about the rumors related to her gender, which accompanied her, mainly, at the beginning of her career.

The singer, with more than 15 years of success, spoke to Bill Gates, host of the program, and began by saying that in her 20s there were rumors that the artist was, in fact, a man. Amid tours, albums and various interviews, she was always asked about her gender.

He recalled sitting in the chair in front of the interviewer and being asked: “There is a rumor that you are a man, do you have anything to say about that?” However, Gaga always ignored the question and confessed that she didn’t care about the comments.

According to her, she chose not to respond because she did not feel like a victim of this lie and was still thinking about the children she represented: “I thought: 'What will a child accused of the same thing think if they see a public figure like me feeling embarrassed about it?'”, he reported.

The singer premieres her new feature film at the beginning of next month, alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Joker: Delirium à Two. She, who has been off the silver screen since 2021, is now preparing for the release of Thriller.

The musical thriller received some criticism from American experts. Even though the comments are mixed: neither very negative nor positive, the evaluation by Richard Lawson, from Vanity Fair, drew attention, classifying it as “incredibly boring”.

“Anyone who expected the Joker sequel to be about how the newly minted villain wreaks havoc on his city will be sorely disappointed with Delusion for Two. Phillips essentially banished us to two places: the asylum and the courthouse. Very little happens outside these walls, reducing the film to a restricted psychological drama. It's incredibly boring, a pointless procedural that seems to disregard its audience.”, wrote the critic.

In the film, Gaga will play Harley Quinn, admirer and romantic partner of the protagonist, Joker. In addition to bringing the mysterious and delusional character to life, he will sing the soundtrack for the feature film. The premiere is scheduled for October 3rd.
