Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Taylor Swift nominated for Best Original Song at the Critics Choice Awards

This Wednesday (12), the Broadcast Film Critics Association, released the list of nominees for Critics Choice Awards 2023, in the cinematographic categories. THE The 28th edition of the famous awards ceremony, given to the best productions of television, cinema and streaming, will take place on January 15, 2023 in the United States. The nominations in the TV categories for the CCA were revealed on December 6.

Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Taylor Swift have been announced as contenders for the Hollywood Critics' Choice Award in the “Best Original Song” category. “Hold My Hand”, Gaga's song for the movie “Top Gun Maverick”, “Lift Me Up”, interpretation of Rihanna, for the production “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, and “Carolina”by Taylor Swift, song from the feature film “A Place Far Away From Here”are on the list of contenders for a statuette.

The dispute between three big pop music stars appears to be repeating the nomination made last Monday (12) when the “Golden Globe” announced its nominees for the category of the same name, the award ceremony that will take place on January 10, 2023.

Along with the female nominations, the list of six nominees includes Alexandre Desplat, Roeban Katz and Guillermo del Toro, with the award “Bye Papa”, of “Pinocchio”; Kala Bhairava, MM Keeravani and Rahul Sipligunj, with “Naatu Naatu”of “RRR: Revolt, Rebellion, Revolution”; besides LCD Soundsystem, with “New Body Rhumba”of “White Noise”.

It is worth noting that “Shallow”, Lady Gaga's song for the film “A Star Is Born”, won the CCA for “Best Original Song” in 2019, awarding the singer, who also received a statuette for “Best Actress”.

The awards, which serve as a good barometer for the Oscars, are held annually by the largest critics' organization in Canada and the United States, representing more than 600 media professionals and journalists who cover entertainment.

THE Critics Choice Awards will be held in the Fairmont Century Plaza from Los Angeles, in the United States, with live broadcast by TNT and HBO Max, starting at 9 pm.
