Lady Gaga Talks Method Acting in 'House of Gucci'

In an interview with the program 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', singer and actress Lady Gaga spoke a little about the acting process. Gaga spoke mainly about her latest work, in 'Gucci House', a film he is promoting.

“I think there's an idea that method acting is crazy, and that we're crazy. But I think for those of us who are committed to method acting, there's something in us that connects with the art on a cellular level.“, said the actress. “We are deeply rooted in this immersive experience. I feel it when I sing, when I make music, and when I act. When I sing jazz, I consider it a privilege and an honor to go back to all these great musicians of the past and bring out this great music. I do the same when I work with characters.”.

The singer had previously mentioned that, during the recordings and preparations to play Patrizia Reggiani in 'Gucci House', she only spoke with an Italian accent. Since Patrizia is Italian, Gaga said this made it easier to get into character.

“With Patrizia, it was much easier for me to stay in character the whole time, when I spoke to my mother, to my father…“, said Gaga, who is American but has Italian ancestry. She also noted that people would be startled when they heard her speaking with an accent on the phone.

'Gucci House' premieres in Brazilian cinemas on November 25th and is based on the true story of the millionaire Gucci family and the murder of Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), heir to the famous fashion house, at the behest of his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga). Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Jared Leto are also in the cast of the film directed by Ridley Scott.
