Animale ORO, launched by Claudia Jatahy in 2019, is going through a new phase and announced its new creative director in March of this year. With the arrival of Raffaele Petruzzelli, Animale ORO aims to attract a younger audience to the brand. Rafaelle has previously worked at Fendi — alongside Karl Lagerfeld —, Chloé and Alexander McQueen and this is the second time she will work alongside Claudia Jatahy at Animale.
About Raffaele Petruzzelli
Raffaele is a jewelry designer who studied at the renowned Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Rome, where he also taught for 15 years. In addition, he was a coordinator for four years at the IED in Rio de Janeiro. During his time in Brazil, he worked as a jewelry designer at Animale, alongside Claudia Jatahy. “I moved to Brazil, where I stayed for five years. It was a great time. Rio is a wonderful place to live.”said Raffaele in an interview with L'Officiel Brasil. After his stay in Brazil, Petruzzelli returned to Europe, where he worked alongside Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi. According to Raffaele, working with Karl made him learn a lot. In addition to being a former Fendi designer, he has also worked at Chloé and Alexander McQueen.
Raffaele returned to Rio de Janeiro earlier this year to work as creative head of Animale ORO, bringing a fresher vision to jewelry design and also with the aim of attracting a younger audience. According to Petruzzelli, Animale ORO is already working on the collection that will be launched in early 2025. “I want to further strengthen the identity of the brand’s pieces, without giving up my style, which is cleaner, but with some details that will make a difference.”he tells L'Officiel Brasil. With a renewed vision, Raffaele has already launched, together with Animale ORO, the welded bracelet, which has been a success in Italy for three years.
