Linda Hakeboom completes cancer treatment

Linda Hakeboom has completed her cancer treatment, she reports Monday on Instagram. The 36-year-old documentary maker was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago.

“What a crazy moment. If you are diagnosed, your life will be dominated by this disease from one day to the next. And now I’m going to look ahead again,” Hakeboom says on the social media platform.

“No idea yet what that will mean. We’ll see! Whatever happens, today is the party!”

#Hakeboom underwent breast surgery to remove the tumor. She then received a light form of chemotherapy, because cancer cells were still found in her breast.

At the beginning of September, the documentary maker said that she had also prepared for a darker fate. “I believe that I can accept any outcome, that was actually the case from the beginning. I have had a beautiful, rich and full life and if that were to come to an end now, I can be at peace with that.”
