Singer Lizzo recently took a bold step to defend herself against accusations of sexual harassment made by several former employees. She petitioned the Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss these claims. According to documents obtained by Page Six, the 35-year-old singer's legal team presented at least 31 lines of defense to explain why these lawsuits should be dismissed.

Lizzo responds to accusations

In these legal documents, Lizzo vehemently denies all allegations made against her. She goes further by using the legal term “dirty hands,” accusing her former dancers of participating in unethical behavior related to the case. Lizzo claims that the whistleblowers “ratified, acquiesced, tolerated and/or approved the acts” mentioned in the action. Furthermore, she argues that there is no evidence to suggest that the dancers suffered any harm as a result of their alleged conduct.

This lawsuit appears to be the first in a series of legal efforts that the artist, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, and her legal team will make to seek justice for themselves. Its spokesperson underlines its commitment to promoting a positive and safe work environment.

In addition to the initial allegations, Lizzo faces new accusations of harassment from Asha Daniels, her tour costume designer. Daniels accuses the artist of creating a sexualized, racially charged and illegal work environment. She also alleges that Lizzo's management team made racist and fatphobic comments mocking black women and denied her medical care while on tour.

Lizzo's evidence in her defense

Lizzo's legal defense presented contradictory evidence, including photos and a video, to dispute the accusers' claims. The images depict dancers having fun behind the scenes at a party, suggesting a friendly and cooperative atmosphere. The defense argues that these images contradict the accusations of harassment.

The case involving Lizzo and her former dancers is still ongoing, with both parties vigorously defending their positions. The final outcome will ultimately be determined by the judicial system.
