Maitê Proença and Adriana Calcanhotto's relationship comes to an end

Actress Maitê Proença and singer Adriana Calcanhotto have broken up. According to the column “TV room”by Jeff Benício, from the website Terra, the relationship that began in September of last year, ended at the end of June.

According to the column, Adriana, 56, would have felt particularly uncomfortable seeing her private and intimate life treated as gossip with great indiscretion, and this exposure on the networks would be the reason for the breakup.

Maitê frequently made statements to the media about her personal life, which would have displeased Adriana, who did not like appearing in gossip pages due to her relationship with the actress.

Calcanhotto has always been very reserved and discreet about her private life, she has not openly announced any relationship since the death of her wife, filmmaker Suzana de Moraes, in 2015.

Maitê, 64, has made some statements about her relationship that have generated controversy in recent months. Proença commented on his sex life with the singer, stating: “Now it’s much cooler, yes”.

However, the peak of the exposure was a statement made by the actress at the end of June, which coincided with the end of the relationship: “I wish she was a man. I always liked men better for this activity. But she is a woman, I like her and I accept that.”said the actress, to JP magazine.

In the article, the actress and presenter also said “I know feminists and LGBT people aren’t going to like what I just said, but honestly, that’s how it is, you know? I can try something different to be with her.”. Those mentioned certainly didn't like it. The writer was accused of lesbophobia, sparked a huge debate on social media, and even made a video to contextualize and justify her previous statement: “I was asked about my current relationship and I replied that, although I prefer men, I am with a woman. Because I like her, I like that person.”said the actress through her networks.
