“Mysterious peacock, beautiful bird!” A king never loses his majesty, and Ney Matogrosso is living proof of this. The artist rocked the night in Rio last Saturday (01), at Qualistage, Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, with the show Bloco na Rua. A full house night, in which Ney and his band brought together their greatest hits, with the energy and unique and scenic performance that only he knows how to perform.

Ney Matogrosso took the stage with an estimated audience of 3,500 people eager to see one of the greatest artists in Brazilian music. At around 9:30 p.m., he opened the show with the title song of the tour: “Eu Quero É Botar Meu Bloco na Rua”. During the first performance of the night, Ney wore the typical tour costume as part of the show, slowly removing the golden hood that covered his face before revealing it to everyone. He continued with “Jardins da Babilônia”, with the audience making noise along with him, in a chorus of voices and dancing arms.

The show was inaugurated and the cold night of Rio de Janeiro was about to receive a sequence of hits such as “O Beco”, “Pavão Mysteriozo”, “Yolanda”, “A Maçã” and “Sangue Latino”, which would officially close the show. However, Ney promised a surprise, when he left the stage for a few moments.

“Officially, the show ends here, but I prepared a little surprise for you! I'll be right back.”

And he returned for a beautiful performance of a few more hits, but the climax came with the sound of “Homem com H”. The excited audience got up from their tables and went to the front of the stage, dancing and singing “Homem! Pega! Come! Porquê eu sou é homem, menina, eu sou é homem. E como sou!”, with one of the greatest symbols of Brazilian music.

As he bowed to the audience with his band, the curtains closed, but Ney returned, to much applause, just to wave goodbye to his fans, ending the memorable night. Not even the return home in the rain in the West Zone made the show and the encounter with a legend any less worthwhile.
