Maneskin releases cinematic video for track “The Loneliest”

With credits appearing on the screen at the end of the screening, the Italian band Maneskinreleased on his YouTube channel, this Wednesday afternoon (12), the official clip for the single “The Loneliest”a film production of the track that had been made available on digital platforms last Friday (7). The video written and directed by Tommaso Ottomano, features the quartet attending a rainy wake, in somber costumes with vocalist Damiano David singing the melancholic song about his feeling of loneliness. Following the same aesthetic dark and all the drama presented in the single's promotional materials, Damiano, Victoria, Ethan and Thomas appear at a disorderly funeral, highlighted by cold colors, scenes in slow motion, special rain effect, participation of extras helping to build the entire dismal atmosphere filled with of symbolisms that so well represent the tone of the quartet's third song this year. Before that, they launched “If I Can Dream”part of the soundtrack of Elvisand “Supermodel”.

The coffin that the band members appear carrying in the first minutes of the clip, does not show who is there, but suggests that it is someone very close due to their downcast expression. The song's lyrics collaborate with the narrative created, as it talks about the “loneliest night” of losing a loved one.

The band, which had a highly visible appearance at this year's Rock In Rio, was formed in 2016 and already has three studio albums: “Chosen'' (2017), “Il ballo della vita”(2018) and “Teatro d'ira – Vol. I” (2021), although one of his biggest hits is the cover of the song released in 1967 by “The Four Seasons”, “Beggin'” and the originals”I Wanna Be Your Slave” and “Coraline“.

Fans are looking forward to “The Loneliest” will be part of a subsequent album by the Italian quartet. The news already marks a very special moment in the band's career recorded by the vocalist in a note: “We played a little surprise show in London this Thursday, we played 'The Loneliest' live for the first time and everyone's reaction meant a lot to us,” which added: “We’re having a whirlwind year touring the world, meeting fans at shows and festivals all over the world, from Japan to America to Europe and beyond, and we can’t wait to keep touring and releasing more music in 2023.”

This shows the dominance of the stages of major festivals and the most prestigious concert venues around the world that the Italian rock band has been performing.
