Manoel Soares shows resignation letter from TV Globo

Manuel Soares returned to social networks, this Wednesday, July 5, to return to refute harassment accusations. The journalist told how he left Rede Globo and showed his resignation letter.

“I have a lot of cool news to bring here about news that is coming and that will bring us closer, but I want to put closure on this subject first. In advance, I am grateful for the affection of everyone who, like me, is outraged by these slander. But let’s follow the teachings of our master Conceição Evaristo: “They agreed to kill us and we agreed not to die”, she wrote.

This Tuesday, July 4, Manoel Soares went to social networks to refute the accusations of harassment, involving his name on TV Globo. According to F5, from Folha de S. Paulo, one of the alleged accusations of harassment, made by a journalist, says that a woman felt uncomfortable after seeing Manoel walking around in the station’s corridors in a bathrobe.

“With my departure from Rede Globo, many false news speculating the reason became public. It is regrettable that some use important tools of journalism to support absurdities involving my name. I am neither the first nor the last man of my origins to be targeted in this way. For centuries they have used the strategy of alleging abusive behavior to disqualify black men. I am outraged by this kind of cowardice, but reassured about the truth of my actions and conduct. Lies like these cannot be sustained, which is why they will be fought in the legal field,” he wrote in an excerpt from the statement posted on Instagram.

Last week, he had already stated that he would take legal action to prosecute anyone who spread fake news about him.
