Manu Gavassi records Acústico MTV paying homage to Rita Lee

MTV's famous music show is back! Acústico MTV, which was one of the station's most famous music programs, will now get a new national version, that's exactly what you read.

MTV Brasil will reissue the franchise and give the program a new look. The broadcaster chose singer and actress Manu Gavassi to be in charge of the program and start this new season of the American broadcaster's musical attraction that came to Brazil in the 90s.

Acústico MTV was a pioneering and globally award-winning franchise, it was in this program where bands and artists played their songs only in the acoustic version. The new edition in Brazil has a new look and will be shown on MTV, and in the future will be available on the PARAMOUNT+ streaming platform, the broadcaster's partner.

To be in charge of this new season, artist Manu Gavassi was chosen. For the special, Manu chose to reinterpret the album “Fruto Proibido”, by the Queen of Brazilian Rock, Rita Lee. Of whom the singer is a big fan. This specific album by Rita Lee is considered one of the best and most important Brazilian albums of all time.

The project will be recorded today, Tuesday (01), in a secret location in Vila Madalena, in São Paulo, with few guests in the audience. In addition, high-ranking executives from Paramount are in Brazil to monitor the visual record.

Audiovisual production is the responsibility of F/SIMAS, an artistic agency specializing in musical productions, with the following productions in its portfolio: “Ana e Vitória”, from Netflix, “Araguaína Las Vegas”, also from Netflix and “Gracinha”, from Disney+ , in addition to “Tá Tudo Certo”, which will debut soon on Disney+.

The premiere date for this new season of Acústico MTV has not yet been announced.
