Marilu Bueno dies at age 82; check out the most notable facts about the actress's career

Actress Marilu Bueno passed away this Wednesday (23) at Hospital Miguel Couto due to complications in the post-operative period of abdominal surgery performed in May. The artist was 82 years old and left an enormous contribution to Brazilian drama with more than 50 years on television.

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1940, she made her debut in 1960 with a short film The Termite. At the same time, she began acting in theater and went to television twelve years later with the soap opera The Hunk 1972. Becoming known for playing the character Margot, the Rede Globo actress played several memorable characters for Brazilian television.

Among his notable performances, it is worth highlighting: Navy in Stupid Cupid; Gilda Duran in Sin Handkerchief, Without DocumentOlivia Krauss in Battle of the sexes, Mrs. Happiness in Cousin BasilicoMrs. Carochinha in Yellow Woodpecker Farm and Tete in The Cat Ate.

A passionate artist and actress, Marilu Bueno had a career spanning over 60 years and stated in a 2013 interview with Encontro that she carried with her the good humor of the characters she played. Several of these characters were also responsible for entertaining and improving the mood of Brazilians for over 60 years.

The actress' wake will take place at a cemetery in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro with burial scheduled for 4:30 pm today (23). Family, friends and fans were able to say goodbye to the actress, following the rules to avoid crowds.
