Mark Ruffalo encourages young Brazilians on Twitter to register to vote

Actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk in the Marvel movies, shared a post by Brazilian singer Anitta on his Twitter account, in which he encourages young Brazilians to get their voter registration card.

In 2020, Americans only defeated Donald Trump because a record number of voters exercised their democratic rights, especially young people.“, commented Mark. “To defeat Bolsonaro, Brazilians between the ages of 16 and 17 need to register to vote in the upcoming elections. They have until May 4 to do so.“, he added.

The Brazilian artist who is mobilizing her social networks. She made a statement: “Are you 16 or 17 years old or will be 16 BY October 2nd?? Have you moved to another city and want to vote for the new president of Brazil? Well, you should know that it is very easy to get or transfer your voter registration these days! It is all online and does not require biometrics!”.

It's not just actor Mark and singer Anitta who are stirring up social media to encourage young Brazilians to register to vote. Other artists, such as pop singer Luisa Sonza, have posted a series of stories criticizing the low number of young people who have registered to vote for the 2022 in-person elections.

Former BBB Juliette also posted on her Twitter account. “Voting is one of the best ways to express our voice within democracy, perhaps the most powerful. I am very saddened by the information that the number of 16 and 17 year-olds who have obtained their voter registration is one of the lowest in history. Obtaining your voter registration is simple on the TSE website.”, warned the digital influencer.

All this mobilization is because the Superior Electoral Court, in February, registered the lowest number in history of adolescents aged 16 and 17 with voter registration cards, in which case voting is optional. The process for issuing the document can be done online, by filling out the form on the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) website.
