Matheus Mazzafera denies going to Thailand for gender transition procedure

Presenter Matheus Mazzafera, 43 years old, used his social networks this Sunday morning (25) to deny rumors that he had gone to Thailand to undergo sexual reassignment surgery (CRS) – a gender transition procedure.

On his Instagram profile, which has all content archived, Mazzafera published a story saying that he did not go to Thailand. Despite having written the message that he did not go to the country, the fashion producer also did not deny the gender transition.

This was the first publication since last year, when he was absent from the internet.

Gender transition

The rumors that Mazzafera had gone to Thailand to carry out the procedure came after a photo was published in 2023, supposedly showing the producer alongside two friends. In the photo, he has big hair, in a swimsuit and a printed cap. The photo ended up catching public attention and went viral on social media.

Later, columnist Gabriel Perline, from iG Gente, wrote an article that denied that the producer was the person in the photo. According to the journalist, gossip profiles on Instagram shared the image stating that it was Matheus Mazzafera after the transition, but, in fact, the person who appears with a female silhouette is the creator of the drag queen, Jimbo, James Insell , who was the winner of the eighth season of the drag reality show “RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars”, in 2023.

Even though Mazzafera was not in the photo, the journalist stated that, on February 17, 2024, the influencer underwent the gender transition process.

To date, neither Matheus nor the team that advises him have officially commented on the matter.

The presenter has been away from his social networks and the internet since October 2023. His last appearance was at presenter Rodrigo Faro's birthday party, where he went viral on the internet when he questioned party guests about which pronouns they identified with.

At the time, the different answers appeared as nicknames, surnames and even names of football players. Such responses demonstrated that, in fact, many people still do not know what pronouns are, which generated a debate within social networks.

After the video went viral and had millions of views, Matheus disappeared from the internet, in addition to being absent from parties, boxes, festivals, and even the 2024 carnival, which the presenter always enjoyed with other celebrities.

His Instagram account, which has almost 5 million followers, remains active, but with all content archived.
