After almost reaching the mark of two decades working at the Italian brand, which was, for almost a decade, the brand's artistic director, Alessandro Michel said goodbye to Maison Gucci. Leaving a remarkable legacy for the brand.

At the beginning of 2015, he arrived on the catwalk after Frida Giannini (former creative director of the brand) and, with his first collection, he was able to establish a new (and audacious) era for Gucci, with a lot of creativity, he told stories for fashion.

Unique, Michele played with gender roles in fashion, incorporating androgeneity into the mixture of timeless patterns and tones in an audacious way, thus reaffirming the way of expressing individuality using clothes and their designs.

Referencing history and art, it promoted diversity in gender, ethnic origins, culture and sexuality. Her collections have made Gucci not only known for its role in fashion, but also for its genius and luxurious inclusivity.

Some strong points

In her first men's collection, Michele brought the beginning of androgyny to the brand, with vintage and feminine touches in the collection. “Genderfluid” was used by the director to mix and break gender rules in fashion.

In the 2018 autumn/winter collection, Michele brought designs that brought science fiction and fantasy to reality in the form of clothes and accessories. Her designs brought a dystopian air to the collection, and some of the biggest and most shocking points of the show were the accessories in the shape of realistic human heads and small dragons.

In 2020, Michelle's spring/summer collection addressed a topic rarely mentioned in the fashion world: mental health. The collection, made in the form of a manifesto, used models dressed in straitjackets: more than 20 silhouettes in the collection used them, however, these clothes gave way to looks similar to the elegant and sensual designs found in the 70s.
