The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, accused Nicolás Maduro's regime of “kidnapping” after the arbitrary arrest of security officer Nahuel Agustin Gallo, last Friday (13). The Argentine government calls for his immediate release and threatens to adopt severe measures, including action in international organizations.
Detention raises diplomatic tensions
The case, which involved the arrest of Nahuel Gallo, a National Guard officer, occurred while the Argentine was visiting family in Venezuela. According to Argentine authorities, the detention was without legal justification, which led the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to classify the act as arbitrary and unjustifiable. Security Minister Patricia Bullrich made strong statements, stating that the Venezuelan president will face consequences for the officer's arrest.

Milei's government has been irreducible, demanding Gallo's immediate release, and has already stated that it will take all necessary diplomatic measures to guarantee his safety and return to Argentina. Authorities speculate that the agent is being held in the “Helicoide” complex, known for being a torture center in Venezuela.
International pressure and possible repercussions
Argentina appealed to international organizations, such as the Organization of American States (OAS) and the UN, denouncing the arrest as a violation of international conventions that protect diplomats. Furthermore, the Argentine government seeks support from allies, such as Brazil and Colombia, to intercede in Gallo's release. Milei's aggressive stance and his criticism of Maduro reinforce his government's ideological stance against authoritarian regimes.
Analysts point out that the incident could intensify Venezuela's isolation, as more countries take a stand against Maduro's actions. The expectation is that international pressure will grow, with organizations such as the OAS being called upon to act to mediate the impasse.
